Meet the team |
Hi Everyone!
Well, goodbye Summer! We are heading into Autumn
now and trends from the A/W 2010/11 catwalk
shows have already started to trickle into the
stores. Have a look at our ‘Latest
Trends’ section to see a few of the great
new trends which are emerging.
A few of our evening courses which began in
September 2009 finished up recently and the
standard of final projects was outstanding. You
can see some snippets of the students’ work
below. There are more Image and Fashion evening
courses commencing in October 2010 in Dublin and
London. For more details click on the following
links ‘Dublin
Evening Courses' and ‘London
Evening Courses’.
We are often approached by employers
and event organizers who are either hiring stylists
or looking for stylists to assist with the
production of an event. Keep an eye on the Career
Opportunities section of our website for details.
One exciting opportunity at the moment is a fashion
show that is being organised by the Spotlight
society of the National University of Ireland,
Maynooth. The fashion show will be held on 1st
December 2010 and will raise funds for the 'Make A
Wish Foundation' who grant wishes to children aged
3-18 years who are living with a life-threatening
illness. The organisers are looking for stylists to
assist with the running of this show. Anyone who is
interested, please see the ‘Career
Opportunities’ section for more details. I would
advise that only students who are at least half way
through their course should enquire.
It feels too early to be discussing pantomimes but
there is quite an interesting one being held in
October at the Garrick Theatre in London. A host of
fashion designers have teamed up to design the
costumes for the pantomime which will raise money
for a charity. The list of designers includes
Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Giorgio
Armani, Paul Smith, Zandra Rhodes, Pucci, Amanda
Wakely and Valentino. With all of these huge names
involved, the costumes will surely be amazing! The
panto will be loosely based on the story of Snow
White but her dwarves will be replaced with seven
interior designers who will battle against ugly
interiors! See our
Exhibitions and Events section for further
details.
We recently held Open Days in our Dublin and London
locations. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting those of you
who were able to attend the Dublin event. Our Open
Evenings are a great chance for anyone who is
interested in our courses to come along, chat to
tutors and see examples of current students’ work.
There will be two more Open Days in Dublin and
London this year, one on Tuesday 7th September from
6pm until 9pm and one on Saturday 11th September
from 11am until 3pm.
